What to do if you receive the request for supporting Power of Attorney documentation

The Power of Attorney request will appear if the W8-BEN tax form was completed incorrectly. 

When submitting the tax form, on the "Certification" page, you will want to check the box that states: "I am signing for myself."

Please do not click the check box which states: "I am signing on behalf of someone else."

Unless you are completing the form on behalf of someone else, checking this box will cause the portal to require a Power of Attorney form as supporting documentation. 

If you receive the request for Power of Attorney documentation but you are completing the tax form for yourself, please go back and resubmit the form.
